C.F.L Light Bulb

Hi friends

I am back here a C.F.L light bulb tutorial in illustrator, you have a chance to learn how to create a C.F.L light Bulb through this example. It has been described step by step to learn easily so please start and enjoy it.

Take a new document with any size as you need, select Rounded Rectangle Tool (M key) and create a shape with "White" fill color and draw again in the middle of the shape on different position. Select both shape and click on the "Subtract from shape area" button in the Pathfinder Window as done here.

Now you have to apply glow inside the shape, select shape and follow this path (Effect window > Stylize > Inner Glow). Choose color and make adjustment all the settings as given here.

Select Pen Tool (P key) and draw a shape with any color because you have to apply gradient color, after done shape make duplicate by Alt + arrow and flip it vertical by right click > Transform > Reflect then choose "Vertical" option in the window.

Now make them join by pressing Ctrl + J key, select Rectangle Tool (M key) and draw a line on the top of the shape then draw a circle (L key) on the line as cover the line's end. Press Ctrl + C key to make copy and paste on the same position then send back by pressing (Ctrl + { ) two time.

Select both circle and line then click on the "Subtract from shape area" button in the Pathfinder Window to cut the line's end but make sure the circle should be up on the line.

Now use upper step to cut the big shape's part on the same position as here.

After cut the both shape line and big shape apply same step on the another side of the line to cut, you should have below picture.

Now select big shape and apply gradient color, go to Window menu and select Gradient then choose colors as done below.

Select Pen Tool (P key) and draw a line on the shape with "#7a7979" color then apply blur effect by following this path (Effect menu > Blur > Gaussian Blur) and adjust the Radius as here.

Come to bottom of the bulb, select Pen Tool (P key) and draw a shape with selected "#7a7979" color then make duplicate and merge them as I have done up.

Now apply gradient on the merged shape, go to Window menu and select Gradient then choose colors to look like steel cover.

Select Pen Tool (P key) and draw a shape on the steel cover then apply gradient and make adjustment in the Transparency window as done below.

The final C.F.L Bulb is completed, use it and enjoy.
